The Pure Joy of Puddles

Thinking of rain.
I just had an uplifting thought.

Puddle jumping.

Not puddle avoidance
but, going for straight for them with gusto!

One of my favorite things to do, and admittedly, I have not done it in quite awhile, is to walk in the
rain,
with a
HUGE
umbrella,
and hunt for puddles to jump in.
The
bigger the splash
the better.
The wetter I get
the better.
The more lost I get in the
simple
joy of playing in the rain
the better.

I
really
wish it would
rain.

Do

Do the best you can do, with what you have to do it with.

Do this every day,

and

no one

can rain on your parade

as you know the reality

of your merit

and no one can expect any more.

Celebrate Rick

I am anticipating this weekend. Yeah, it's Friday.

Dear Hubby's birthday is tomorrow and I am planning him a birthday party. He is going to be 56 and has never had a suprise party. I am having some family over and I can't believe I haven't spilled the beans.

Since we have lived here, we have only had one event at the house. Hubby is not so fond of people in his space.

I am slightly un-nerved as I am not the "hostest with the mostest". So far I have ordered a cake and think I will order some wings from his favorite wing spot and a sandwich ring from Sam's. I am making green fluff (that holds goofy private memories for us), hot spinach and asiago dip with tortillas, macaroni salad and baked beans. I hope that is sufficient.

My sister will be here and she is the "Martha Stewart" of the family. She got all of the hostest genes in the family. She always entertains in a manner that looks effortless.

All this being said, what really matters is that we all celebrate an awesome man on his birthday. This is my second hubby and we have been together almost ten years.

I am thankful for my Rick.

Happy Birthday Love!

My American Heart

My perception is that the business world has lost focus on good ol' American values.
I do not believe that profit margins are more important than people. My heart is heavy watching corporations chew up and spit out the employees who built them up to what they are today.

I am happy sharing my bread, over eating like a glutton, and watching others starve.

I suppose I would not be a very good CEO, but I can sleep at night.

Do they, and if they do, how can they?

This breaks my American Heart.

Guess Who

Sometimes openly,

but more often

veiled

EVOLUTION
is
happening,

and it is difficult to discern
who is in

control.

Who is that person
behind the curtain
that is
really
running the show.

What seems evident,
is
most likely,
not necessarily so.

No Time For That

Today

was

full of her negative energy.

You feel her force

moving from one person to another,

cornering, and capturing her prey.

Her force is ugly, progressive and non-productive.

She drains without prejudice.

I don't have time or energy for this.

Spin if you want, but I am done.

Don't waste my time with your inadequacy.
