Today See The Good

So, I went searching for my blog after years of inactivity on it.  Breaking into it was another adventure..
This action was provoked into motion from a friend who posted about her daughter jumping in the rain. an I remembered long ago writing a snippet, here, about that very activity.

Puddle jumping, for the most part,  is a lost pleasure among all but little children.  Too bad.  Adults who still aim their feet to intentionally jump into the heart of a puddle still know how to enjoy the rain.  I live in Pittsburgh and it rains a bunch, so ...................

Enter Covid19 2020.

We have all been either essential and working out in the petri dish, or staying safe at home working while the essential do all they can to keep others safe.

From my small'ish world, my observation has been that the people who have been ordered to hang out at home are looking for activities to do while being at home and not out socializing.  I have noted that my people have  re-discovered the joy of simple things.  Talking, and more importantly, listening to each other.  Learning from our children, taking time to truly enjoy who they are. We have learned to have fun with less, and appreciate what we have.  Our priorities have changed.

I am thankful for refocusing on the good that we have all around us. The air smells cleaner.  The birds are still singing.  The SON is shining through this and we are coming out better.

The good stuff was missed for so long.

family bonding reading crafting cooking sewing farming (planting seeds) blowing bubbles PUDDLE JUMPING folding washing helping laughing snuggling  sending letters and love
kindness
accountability for overall good
respect for others
........................and SO MUCH more.

America~a couple of random thoughts

America is my home.
I am a mixture of Swedish and German descent but, America is all that I know. We have had our share of changes in the most recent years which makes the world as we know it different.
I have no desire to live in any other country.
This is my home.
Our leaders need the support of our one nation under God, no matter what our political affiliation may be.
I am proud of our men and women who diligently fight for freedom.
My heart is heavy for the families that are left to take care of business while their mother, father, brother, sister, wife or husband is away from them serving all of us.
Sincere gratitude goes to the military and their families for the sacrifices they make to keep our country strong.
America is a country of endurance and determination. We are the land of opportunity.
I am proud to be American and celebrate her birth.
Happy 4th of July.
