Doggie Father Hubby went out today to buy the animals (kids) some special stuff at Petsmart. He does that periodically since we have amazing pets (kids). Daddy got Neko a lovely package of IAMS TARTER TREATS. They are these cute toothbrushed shaped doggie cookies that IAMS promotes as Edible Dental Treats for large dogs.
Neko was thrilled when Daddy asked him if he wanted a cookie. He looked at Daddy so graciously and took the "toothbrush" from Dad and sorta just held the thing in his mouth like a cigar. He walked around with it for about a half hour, not chewing it. Daddy thought perhaps it was just too big for Neko and tried to break the cookie. Daddy couldn't crack it in half (and he is a daily weight lifter) Neko has a habit of hiding goodies that we give him (like a kid who sticks his plate under the table so a pet can eat his meatloaf and still make parents happy) that he is not fond of.
All of a sudden he no longer had his toothbrush and we went looking for it. It was not in his normal hiding spots (corners, closets, behind doors).
We were stumped until we peered into the cat litter box.

Yes he did.
Neko put that IAMS Edible Dental treat right where he thought it belonged.
So much for clean teeth today.

Maybe they can't speak, but dogs certainly have a way of expressing their opinions.
I was dogsitting for a friend once, and his Jack Russell clearly didn't think highly of Macintosh computers; he peed on my laptop.
That's funny. Our dog loves the (greenie) toothbrush. She snatches it and runs right over to this certain spot and hunkers down and eats it. If I go near her she'll shield the greenie with her body.
One of our previous dogs carried it around like a cigar looking to hide it. He had food hidden all over the place. He had been rescued from the streets of the Bronx, so he was just being prepared.
Look at those puppy dog eyes...
My dog will swallow anything that goes in his mouth! He is a pig!
That is so cute, heheh my dog would have just chucked it right back at me, yours seems very polite, lol
That's what you do with NASTY. Bury it in the cat box!
awwwwwww...adorable doggie! I love dogs!
Sounds like you've got one smart kid there! *That'll* teach you to give him healthy treats again! :P
That's hilarious! My girls will just become total snobs if they don't like a treat. LoL! :)
